So I am a Marvel girl at heart y'all. I full admit that me and Marvel go way back. In fact I will watch a Marvel movie over a DC movie any day (send hate mail to twitter please). Now that we have cleaned the air about that I fully admit I am UBER stoked about some new shows coming out next year and they shockingly enough are DC in nature...

First off Arrow is the one show that I have promised myself to catch up on before season 3 (don't cast stones you try graduating from Grad school and still being able to watch all the "it" shows) So Arrow is mighty high on my catch up list.

So I became doubly excited when I heard they were doing a spin off show of Arrow featuring none other than the FLASH!!!!

OMFG SERIOUSLY!!!!!

Then as if that wasn't freaking cool enough in it's own right NBC has decided to pick up the one DC graphic novel I read... wait for it....

CONSTANTINE AKA HELLBLAZER... hold the damn phone y'all I'm in freaking heaven!!! Which is ironic b/c Constantine is actually in hell sort of. It's complicated. 

Anyway I am very very very excited about this fall and what awesomeness lies ahead in TV watching (especially since I will have more time to watch)

OUAT oh my Snow WHITE I can't freaking I just can't

OKAY folks God love Netflix b/c I am officially caught up on this fantastic SHOW!!! Remember my questions from Season 1? Well if not go here...

Now if you haven't seen Season 2 don't read further you have been warned.

OH. MY. FREAKING. GOD. SERIOUSLY!!!!!!

I am a HUGE nerd now about this SHOW it freaking rocks my pants off and I admit I am freaking pissed I am caught up. Why? B/c a week between each ep SUCKS!

Alright let me see (My gosh I have no idea even where to start) first and foremost there's a freaking CAPTAIN HOOK on this show that is just sexy as all get out...

Alright now that we have cleared that up Lord seriously I have no idea what else to tell you except. The curse is officially broke and no to answer one of the questions from season 1 they don't just magically get to go back home.

Also apparently if you die in this world you also die in that world. Oh and if you cross the boundary you loose your fairytale memories and only retain your person memories from Storybrooke. Also turns out that Storybrooke was the Ground Hog Day. THEY SERIOUSLY LIVED THE SAME DAMN DAY OVER AND OVER FOR 28 YEARS WTH?!? With only Rump and Queen knowing it. Dang yo. Oh turns out Mad Hatter was also aware of this so I can see where he went a little cray cray. Speaking of here's the Hatter...

Whew as if I needed more of a fan girl craziness over Bucky from Captain America now we gotz him on OUAT!!! *clears throat*

Moving on. So Hatter plays a role by retrieving the apple that put Snow in a sleep then it accidently is given to Henry b/c Emma refuses to believe him so poof Henry is officially gone. By the time Emma believes Henry is in a sleeping spell. Regina is confused Emma now understands and goes to find August who if you remember looks like this...

(NERD MOMENT: not to get nasty or anything but I so would have a love triangle/square with Hook, August, and Hatter and well of course me. MY GOSH so pretty and wow, just wow... nerd moment over)

So he's wood and can't help Emma now everyone has remembered who they are they want to skin Regina alive and OMG I can't even begin we learn that Neil (who was Emma's love) is actually Rump's son. Now I fully admit I saw that one coming so it makes sense that Henry is Rump's grandkid. Alright Gosh seriously so much happens this season Snow and Emma go back to the Enchanted Forrest to discover that Regina's EVIL mother Cora is alive and ruling and wanting to come and see her daughter that spells OH NO. That's how we meet Hook, a giant, learn more about the bean stalks and portals. We learn about Neverland through this season which is key since we are going there for season 3. We also learn about Red and her past as well as the fact that Cinderella is apparently no longer important and we learn that when Storybrooke was made it had 2 peps that didn't belong and well now once back seeking revenge on magic and Regina.

Geez okay so there is tears, angst, heart ache, whump, and OMG moments. Oh did I tell ya Belle is back thanks to Hatter and well she is a weird one first she is Belle then she is Lacey. August gets turned back into a Real Boy at the freaking age of 7 NOOOOOOOO was heard loudly throughout my house. Snow tricks Regina into putting a cursed heart back into her mother which in effect kills her so that vengeance story line goes on and on. We learn that Regina was a pretty cool chick in the beginning and I sadly emphasized way, way too much with her. Not to mention I want her closet both in the real world and fairy land. Let's see... Neil is now in Storybrooke to hang with Henry and brings his shitty girl Tamara who I am hoping against hope dies.

At the end Tamara is bad she is with Owen who was a little boy that Regina tried to keep in Storybrooke after killing his dad. They want to destroy magic and well kidnap Henry and take him to Neverland. Hook decides to help them as they go after him. Gold leaves Belle and realizes that Henry will be the end of him and Neil is shot and sent back to the enchanted forest where he runs into Mulan, Prince Philip and Aurora who is a total wuzzy and I hate which sucks cause she was my favorite princess EVER but whatev. Needless to say they know Neil b/c he talks about Emma who they met when Snow and Emma went back. Weird but there you go. And yes trust when I say I still have questions but seeing how long this post is getting I guess I will save that for another time.

Firefly: Browncoats Unite

So on the 11th Science channel had the 10th Anniversary of Firefly and ended it with a special show. The show was some of the cast weighing in about the TV show with some writers. The cast that couldn't make it did have cameos but the biggest disappointment was the Joss Whedon the creator was not at all on this special. The only time we heard from him was when he was at Comicon this last year and what he said to the crowd. Which honestly I read in twitter feeds so wasn't really to impressed with it.

There were some interesting moments and I profess to not knowing some of the secrets like Inara's big secret we all knew she had, but were never told. Well guess what we know it now and if you want to know it check out my Nerd moment otherwise keep moving on...

NERD MOMENT: OMFG we finally know what the deep dark secret was and seriously it shocked me. Not only that, but I never would have thought it was that (She is dying of a terminal illness yo) Socking I know... nerd moment over

On top of that we learned that Joss wanted a scene where Inara was raped by Reavers and b/c she took the shot (come on browncoats you know what ep I'm talking about) it was suppose to kill them as they raped her. So Mal finds her all damaged (I can't even nor do I want to think about what that scene would've looked like) and he gets down and holds her hand like she was a lady. SO FREAKING GLAD that story never made it. And judging by the casts reaction when the writer was saying that they are glad too.

Oh we also learned about the hat that Jayne wore and that he didn't take it off at all during that ep except at the very end when they are delivering the body to the kid's parents. Nice touch!

I was shocked that Alan and Summer didn't talk as much as I thought they would and in fact I thought Summer hardly ever talked. Maybe she's just shy in real life.

Otherwise like I said up top nothing really new was brought to the table, but either way I am a happy girl b/c let's face it Firefly was on ALL day and the special was a nice touch.

Some Supernatural Trivia for ya!

The Pilot

Since I have already reviewed the Pilot here you can go there to read it then come back to get some fun trivia facts I didn't have at my finger tips when I watched that show!

Did you know:
The pilot was suppose to be a movie that was their mission and the producers blieved they suceeded.
Every street referenced in the pilot is a real street in Toledo, Ohio, Kripke's home town
The fire in the opening scene actually laughs so that you would know it is from something other than just a fire (as if the dead mother hanging from the ceiling wasn't a give away to that)
The instinct behind Dean's car was nitty and gritty everyone wanted to make it James Bond by Kripke wanted it to look like they had to nail together pieces and jerry right somethings themselves.

Urban Legend tie in/used:
This one had The Woman In White as the bad guy er girl in this situation... the legend goes that a man gives a mysterious hitchhiker a ride but upon reaching her requested destination he turns to say goodbye and discovers she has disappeared from the car. He shrugs it off as if he had been distracted by something and didn't hear the dorr as his passenger hurried away... until he later learns his passenger had died quite some time ago.
The legend that seems to mesh up with part of the legend above and what they went with mainly is the Mexican story about La Llorona (the weeping woman). In this tragic tale set hundres of years ago, a beutiful Indian princess, Dona Luisa de Loveros, fell in love iwth a handsome Mexican nobelman, Don Nuno de Montesclaros. The pricess loved the nobleman and had 2 children with him, but he refused to marry her. When he finally left her and married another woman, Dona wen tinto a rage and murdered her children. She was later found wanderin the streets in a daze, her clothes covered in blood. She was charged with infanticide and sentenced to death. Ever since, it is said that her ghost wanders the country's roads and waterways, preying on the unfaithful men.

Wendigo

Is the title of the second episode and well my review is up here so read it then come back for some trivia on this episode.

Did you know:
This is the show that filmed in Vancouver and the first one to film in Canada.
David Nutter was the director in the pilot and in this episode as well.
Apparently you do have a lot more of the Wendigo in this episode but, Kripke cut it b/c it wasn't scary enough.
Kripke said that "he thought everyone did a valiant job trying to make the wendigo work, but the wendigo just didn't work" a lot due to budget and time strains
Kripke learned to not do attempt anything you know you can't execute

Urban Legend tie in/used:
Wendigos AKA the Evil That Devours is a lore that warns of black magic and cannibalism. The stories have been passed down by Native American tribes, as well as exploreres and missionaries across North America from as far back as the seventeenth century. The tale usually involves a harsh winter, and someone being cut off from supplies and resrothing to eating his family or friends to survive. Only, he doesn't truly survive, as his evil act turns him into something less than human. And just in case you ever run into one the way to kill it is a silver bullet or arrowhead to the heart. However, in most lore, during the transformation from human to wendigo the creature's heart turns to solid ice... so a silver or lead ice pick to the heart should do the trick. But the only way to be sure a wendigo is dead and gone is to set it on fire and watch its icy heart melt.

NERD MOMENT: Now excuse me I am off to buy snacks, soda and everything one needs for a lock yourself in and play the game until you fall asleep 2 days later marathon (this really can't happen anymore since you know I'm a student, an adult, and have a job but one can dream and yes I will still be buying the candy and soda b/c well hell I can and I will eventually play) nerd moment over

Supernatural Trivia

So next year not only do I plan to go to the SGA/SG-1 con in Chicago I also plan to head back and go to the Supernatural Con (which I have never been too but, though eh I should do it while I can). But, in order to go and since I've been reviewing the seasons over on another site (you can see the reviews here) I though OMG I need to brush up on my trivia right? (Said every nerd who love SPN) So what does any nerd girl do that wants to brush up on her trivia and learn more about the show?

She buys the companion guides! And so I went forth and bought season 1 (actually I bought all the seasons minus 2 b/c for some reason I couldn't find it for under 40 bucks and I just can't justify spending that much on a companion guide.) Any who so I thought well as I read I must share my trivia knowledge with you and then I will start posting my reviews here as well as the other site. So for the season 1 I read the companion guide front to back (psych that's not true I am still reading it I had hoped to have it read by the time this posted but, alas RL (AKA Real Life) got in the way and I couldn't but as I read I shall let you know what I learned) and to be honest I've learned some really cool things and some duh things I already know but still will share with you.

First off did you know:
SPN (Supernatural) was going to start off as a show about a reporter who investigated urban legends.
Then about 2 guys on a road trip and finally it turned into 2 brothers. At first the brothers weren't going to be raised with their dad in fact they were suppose to be raised with an aunt and their dad was always a demon hunter. Dean was going to try to make Sam believe that monsters were real after they were grown up. But, that plot back story would be too complicated so they decided that the boys were raised with their father on the road.

SO now the story centers around brothers whose mother dies a horrible death and they are searching for their father (the pilot that we have all grown to know and love). Jensen was the first actor they cast and really liked then Jared got an audition b/c the wife liked him in Gilmore Girls (another one of my all time favorite shows!) for the few that don't know this Jensen is Dean the older brother and Jared is Sam the younger brother. Originally Jensen was suppose to play Sam. Also the boys who had never met before clicked together right away almost in a brother fashion making the show even more believable. Also Lawrence Kansas (30 minutes from my home) was picked due to its proximity to Stull Cemetery, which is sort of a famous haunted cemetery where there's some really cool urban legends according to Eric Kripke. (I for one have no idea the only time I do scary is this show)

Apparently Kripke insisted on the music that is on the show stay that way or he would leave. Oh and here's something interesting apparently Jessica was suppose to have a bigger role but they decided that they didn't like the whole "I love you when are you coming home" so they then thought about making her a demon but then ended up with the scene of her dying the same exact way the brother's mother died. I like the version they ended up with a lot better.

oh here is something interesting apparently according to Kripke they know what the last batch of episodes is going to be and what the endgame looks like... I wonder if that is still true through this season 8 now that Kripke is off the show or if the endgame has change? I can't wait to find out when I read the companion for season 7.

So here's Did you know moment from the book:
In one of the many versions of the pilot script, Sam suspected Dean of being as serial killer, and of murdering their father!
In one version of the pilot script that Eric Kripke turned into the studio, the episode ended with eh boys finding their dad dead on the ceiling...
Wow I'm not sure what I think of those. I am glad what they did and how the pilot turned out.

Deadpool

Because I'm sick to death of people asking me who is Deadpool and why I love him so much... Here's what I know and I'm sure there are others out there that know more than me but... here's the 411 according to Sarai

Deadpool's real name is Wade Winston Wilson yes all three names starts with W like a tradition done in Marvel except... he was not created by Stan Lee.

NERD MOMENT: I have no idea why so many of my friends think that Stan Lee is the only person who has ever introduced a new character into the Marvel world but, they do and now I'm here to put the story straight. Nerd moment over.

The first miniseries with Deadpool was called Circle Chase and you can get that in the ultimate Deadpool collection from amazon here. Eventually Deadpool got his on ongoing series by Joe Kelly (I have to admit this is where I came in so I enjoyed this series more than most.) Deadpool wasn't a villain so much as an anti-hero character and good friend to Weasel (which I can tell ya more about later on a different sidenote) I always viewed Deadpool as a wise cracking heart of gold that got twisted and misused and well hell became who he was for a good reason. Others disagree but, I am talking about Sarai's thoughts not others so there you go. Anyway  that was a random tagit but, that's what you get when you read stuff I write about.

Okay after Joe Kelly there was a revamp I think but, I didn't read those I think that was when life was hitting me hard and I moved passed it to something else... anyway I recently stumbled across Daniel Way's new series on Deadpool and will hopefully one day get to share those random thoughts with you on how I am enjoying them. That being said I haven't had time to read them so not even sure why I shared that bit.

All I know and want to stress to my friends is that Deadpool wasn't made by Stan Lee. That he is an anti-hero who is a smarta$$ and we never know if he is morally upright or not. He is not Ryan Reynolds nor is he what they did to him in XMen Origins Wolverine. Now if you want a really well thought out of what went wrong and a deep history of this iconic superhero/anti-hero go here and be wowed like I was. First off they are smarter than me and secondly wow I like how well it was put together with history and whatnot. So go forth and learn little ones.

NERD OUT MOMENT

So I'm watching the Kevin Pollak show with Nathan Fillion (I HEART HIM) and he mentions a bunch of stuff which I will review later for you. But, the part that has me nerding out is the Castle ep where Nathan dresses up as Malcolm Reynolds

NERD MOMENT: come on fellow brown coats you know what I'm talking about. For those that don't rent, buy, rush out to see FIREFLY for the love of all things holy this show is worth it and then BUY Serenity k nerd moment done

Well the other actors dress up as characters they use to play on other shows... Jon Huertes who was on Generation Kill and played a solider dressed up as him and Seamus Dever was on General Hospital and played a Dr that died so on this show he plays a dead doctor. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME I didn't know this.

God love Kevin Pollak for having these shows so that I can nerd out and find out info on things I didn't know. Here's the link to the show I watched and will review at a later time there is gold there people solid gold! Oh and Kevin is this guy in case you don't know.

Codex

And b/c I promised you I would I googled Codex only to find out that it means NOTHING... there really isn't a comic series out there named that or for that matter it has nothing to do with anything comic related except for a comic books shop somewhere. Whoops I see part of the official companion guide to season 2 is right next to 1 LOL. Anywho guess what I haz... companion guides I haz them and I now plan to share them... sort of. I love me some trivia and at every Con they have a question that makes me go huh? So this year *cough 2013* in Chicago I plan to be able to at least answer one of the damn questions. So I am re-watching, brushing up on my Sheppard facial expressions, learning to understand McKay talk, and reading my companion guides! By August of 2013 I will be ready to go head to head with anyone when it comes to SGA I hope ;-)

Trailer Park Heroes pt. 3

OMFG I think Nathan Fillion might be in this one solely based on the video screen capture shot (SQUEE!!!!!) So let's just get right to it.

NERD MOMENT: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE me some Capt. Reynolds and then anything else that love man Nathan Fillion is in. "I aim to misbehave" le swoon...

 

Okay Nerd Moment over for now but I reserve the right to have MANY MANY MORE if and when he appears on this clip just giving you a fair warning now...

 

Das shooting is still occurring but the weapons are a running out of ammo so now we get to the hitting. And a random ice cream truck pulls into the trailer park. Which Nerdy Goodness guy tells everyone to scatter b/c really what else would you do faced with a creepy clown on top of an ice cream truck pulling into a trailer park full of nerd zombies I ask you...

 

HOLY FRACK It's Nathan sucking on a Popsicle (I could go so many, many place with that but, I digress). And man lands he winks at whom I'm not sure but, he was looking directly at me so I'm going with me...

 

And then begins to machine gun the area. In his bad ass kind of way, not mention how much he is compoletely enjoying this shit! I call dibs he's on my team creepy ice cream van and all. NO NO NO they didn't also just bring in Alan Tudyk from FIREFLY Holy shit

 

NERD MOMENT: I am having a Nerd attack in das head, heart and lungs. It's like a whole Firefly reunion cast HOLY SHIT!!!! I heart Wash

OMG OMG OMG this show just got cooler and I'm not even sure how it would've now if Zoey walks in I will be back after I pick myself off the floor from my fainting assuming I don't hit my head! *whispers Nerd Heaven here I come* nerd moment over for now.

 

Nathan replies with "What? I scream you scream we, you know the rest" and tosses his Popsicle. Nathan apparently is the guy that nerdy goodness text during that whole bad timing of phone thingy in last ep. Wash is mad b/c nerdy goodness only text Nathan not him... b/c he had to drive I mean someone has to drive (or pilot...)

 

Wash goes on for awhile about it would've been so much longer for them to get there had he not asked Nathan what the text was about. So lesson just text Wash seriously....

 

Beth starts to strip b/c we are all thinking the same thing here. Nerdy goodness guy says no but, every other guy is like give her a second... boys. Zac is stating how this could be good for morale cause she has an idea.

 

Adam is with nerdy goodness and says that they should pack up this show and take it on the road... Oh Jayne if only we had a ship. Sorry

 

Super girl whom Zac rescued in the beginning is awake and apparently the boys are more interested in her than Beth now LOL. Its the costume it has to be. NO freaking way its Six from Battlestar Galactica or she was also on Chuck to replace Sarah as Chuck's handler or what not anywho its you know her... with longer and darker hair so I see why the guys are happy LOL Is it sad I dont' know her real name?

 

LOL OMG Beth shoots her in the head and laughs and I for some reason I can't stop laughing either. Beth moved up on the list. Nice job. And then says "Faster than a speeding bullet. Yay right." OMG I heart Beth!

Anyway that was a hoot and a half plus fun times on a rainy Saturday! Thanks The Nerd Machine for putting it out there for us all.
