13 things that suck about taking the NCE (National Counselor's Exam)

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!! NO ONE TOLD ME HOW FREAKING MUCH MATERIALS I WOULD HAVE TO STUDY BEFORE MY EXAM... is this a trick or a joke?!?

I am not prepared... #Headdesk

Any who this is why preparing and taking this test is going to suck...

1. HAVE YOU SEEN THAT BOOK... apparently that is the study material
2. You have got to be kidding me the test itself is scheduled for 4 hours... seriously 4 hours why  it so long?
3. I have not been preparing at all for this exam. And yes I hate myself for it
4. I am not ready and I am slightly scared correction terrified, nope actually I am curled up in the fetal position crying like a little baby.
5. WHY DO I NEED THIS TEST
6. The moment I'm like I got this and take the practice exam I cry literally I cry
7. My soul is dying with every flip or turn of the page... dying literally
8. No one cares about my sorrow (I tried to complain to friends and they just don't get it. Or worse they have already taken it)
9. There are no bragging rights when it comes to passing this test. Seriously I still have 2 more years of supervision before I am licensed SO WHY DO I NEED THE TEST?!?!
10. I will know instantly if I am the most AWESOME person in the world or the DUMBEST. An one instant moment I shall know if my dreams and hopes will go down in flames. All at a touch of a button.
11. My whole career is depended on me passing this test.
12. The student loans don't care if I fail the test or not I will still have to pay them back even if I fail this test and end up in fast food for the rest of my life.
13. WHY did I pick the only major short of being a doctor or lawyer (which by and by pays more) that takes a 4 hour test just to be certified THIS BLOWS

Shoot me now and put me out of my misery.

Thursday 13 ~ #13

I feel like I should do something creepy for this one since it is the 13th one I am doing on Thursday 13... Maybe I should do 13 interesting things about the number 13....

1. In spoken English, the numbers 13 and 30 are often confused.

2. There’s an old superstition that says if you have 13 letters in your name, you’re bound to have the devil’s luck. Silly, yes, but slightly more convincing when you consider that Charles Manson, Jack the Ripper, Jeffrey Dahmer, Theodore Bundy and Albert De Salvo all contain 13 letters

3. In Judaism, 13 signifies the age at which a boy matures and becomes a Bar Mitzvah, i.e., a full member of the Jewish faith (counts as a member of Minyan).

4. The number 13 had been considered sinister and wicked in ancient Iranian civilization and Zoroastrianism.

5. The number 13 is considered an unlucky number in some countries

6. At Jesus Christ's last supper, there were thirteen people around the table, counting Christ and the twelve apostles.

7. On Friday 13 October 1307, King Philip IV of France ordered the arrest of the Knights Templar and most of the knights were tortured and killed.

8. A year with 13 full moons instead of 12 posed problems for the monks in charge of the calendars. "This was considered a very unfortunate circumstance, especially by the monks who had charge of the calendar of thirteen months for that year, and it upset the regular arrangement of church festivals. For this reason thirteen came to be considered an unlucky number.

9. In Italy, 13 is also considered a lucky number

10. Apollo 13 was a NASA Moon mission famous for being a "successful failure" in 1970.

11. There’s a Norse legend that has 12 gods sitting down to a banquet when the 13th (uninvited) god, Loki, shows up. Loki killed one of the other gods, which led to events that eventually resulted in Ragnarok — the death of a bunch of gods, a slew of natural disasters, and the eradication of everything on earth save for two human survivors. There’s a lot more to the story than that, but you get the general idea.

12. Traditionally, there used to be 13 steps leading up the gallows.

13. Apollo 13 is the only unsuccessful moon mission (intended to get men on the moon, anyway) thus far. An oxygen tank exploded and the survival of the astronauts on board was pretty touch-and-go for several days, but they did all come home safely in the end (but you already knew that).

Thursday 13 ~ #9 #Coffee #tgfcoffee

So here is 13 reason one should drink coffee (b/c I need a permanent IV attached to my arm oh wait I do it's called a coffee mug)

1. The flavor COME ON there are so many different kinds to pick from?!
2. Add in creamer (which totally makes or breaks your coffee) and who needs flavor coffee with so many different creamers out there...
3. It's warm and with 0 to -0 degree weather (which I didn't even know you could have that kind of temperature) who doesn't want something warm
4. Let us not forget the pick me up it gives to your day
5. the smell OMG the smell is heaven on Earth
6. The warm fuzzy feelings you get after 4 or 5 cups (okay okay I admit that might be the slow death by caffeine feeling I am experiencing)
7. It always goes well with any breakfast food
8. It is something you can bond over with total strangers usually
9. This wonderful place called Starbucks and other local establishments that sell nothing but different kinds of coffee, hot or cold, plus pastries as far as your eyes can see... I'll leave you to discover it all on your own
10. The way it bonds the hipster, hippy, yuppy, broke, student, professional person together everyone just gets along better in coffee shops
11. Free Wi-fi at most coffee locations b/c let's face it if you are meeting in a coffee shop you more than likely have your laptop.
12. The time that comes with coffee. I mean it only stays warm for so long so you tend to sip it and savor it until it turns cold then you re-heat, re-heat and re-heat or throw away
13. It's the only way I can wake up in the morning...

How about you love it or hate it? Can't live with out it? What's your favorite flavor?

Thursday 13 ~ #8

Here's a random one that doesn't match the picture at all, but fits with my week....

13 things that are fantastic about SNOW DAYS!

This last week we in KC received 6-10 inches of snow across the city... so for 2 days we got a snow day and this is what I did during it...

1. Painted my toe nails *doesn't seem big but haven't had time since this semester started*
2. Made different teas that I have been wanting to try, but yet again didn't have time.
3. Caught up on my homework... kind of
4. Played some video games (okay mainly on the computer in between pretending to do homework but hey at least I got to play a freaking game)
5. SLEPT IN!!!
6. Played in the snow with my full grown puppy!
7. Caught up on some TV and trust when I say I was really behind
8. Watched a freaking movie at home but still YAY
9. Had a pot of chili *not at once mind you but still*
10. Goofed off on Facebook it has been ages since I've done that
11. took a really long, long HOT bath and pampered myself
12. Got some new music to help me when I actually decide to study
13. Worked on my time sheets and caught up my ever growing pile of crap that always needs organizing.

WAITED FOR SPRING CAUSE BY DAY 2 I WAS PRETTY MUCH DONE BEING TRAPPED IN THE HOUSE.

How about you did you get a snow day? If so what did you do with it?

Thursday 13 ~ #7

Today I thought it would be fun to do my favorite 13 characters from books. You know the ones that you just can't stop thinking about even after their stories are done (although some are still going) they are not necessarily my favorite characters but they are the ones that I still remember and find myself thinking about randomly.

1. Kate Daniels (from the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews)

2. Harry Potter (I mean come on seriously if you don't know who this is please move on)

3. Bilbo Baggins (again move along if you don't know who this is)

4. Anita Blake (man I am sick of the series (it went downhill after book 8 in my opinion but man I loved this character when she first came out. The series is by Laurell K Hamilton)

5. Harry Dresden (I've seriously talked about this character WAY to much but man I love him. Jim Butcher is the author go check him out)

6. Professor Snape (like him or hate him you sure can't forget about him. Harry Potter series if you don't already know)

7. Katniss Everdean (Hunger Games trilogy while I love Jennifer Lawrence I am referring to the character in the book. The girl annoys the crap out of me at times, but man I do love her)

8. Jaenelle Angelline (from the Black Jewels Trilogy by Anne Bishop HANDS DOWN ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE SERIES. Seriously I re-read this series every year for the last 4 years. Check it out review will be up tomorrow for Friday Favorites)

9. Daemon Sadi (well if I was going to mention Jaenelle I have to mention Daemon LOVE LOVE LOVE him... see above for series and carry on)

10. Joanne Baldwin (from the Weather Warden series by Rachel Caine. I loved this series I just got to the point where Joanne couldn't catch a freaking break so I burned out on it. Thinking of a re-read challenge slash finish the damn series so that I can have closure thingy...)

11. Evangeline Jenner (you may not know this about me but I use to read only romance novels and The Wallflower series by Lisa Kleypas was one of my favorite series I still read them. Evangeline was one of the few characters that just tugged at my heart strings and made me root for her. Her story is book 3 of the series and it's called the Devil in Winter. Check it out)

12. Aisling Grey (this was my favorite paranormal romances when I decided to branch out from historical romances. It is the Guardian series by Katie MacAlister and it is a riot I love learning about Aisling so much that I swore I would name my daughter Aisling *I have since changed that decision but still love the series*)

13. Zarek (wish I could find a last name but I don't think these characters have one. It's a Dark Hunter character from Sherrilyn Kenyon and it's Dance with the Devil man I LOVE this story and my goodness what a heart gripper! I will always remember what Zarek went through as a Roman slave and why he became a Dark Hunter and then finding his love OMG I feel a re-read coming on.)

So how about you? What are some book characters that have stuck with you over the years? They can be the villain, hero, or even anti-hero! What made you remember them and why them?
