Tea Tuesday ~ #6

And we're back!!! Finally after many a months I am able to get back to enjoying my teas again. (Why did I stop you ask? Well b/c making tea takes for freaking EVER).

This week we have Anjou Pear-adise

A very sweet smell the pear is very easy to pick out in the scent.

The package is very pretty and I have to say I enjoy looking at all the "stuff" going into my tea.

When making tea and you don't have a fancy teapot a bright red one that has been around forever will do just nicely

I love my strainer it is so freaking cool. Although it does work better with mugs then actual teacups.

If you are going to drink tea then I suggest a fancy teacup makes you feel all proper when drinking tea.

This is one I got from England so pretty with the purple flowers

When it starts off it is a clear almost yellow looking water as the it seeps.

Gradually though the water becomes more orange to red color. Oddly enough as it cools it becomes more brown

Once in the cup though it is a nice pink or red color and taste is great. Just enough pear to keep a kick to it yet not too bitter that you start wondering if you should add sugar to it.

FINAL GRADE: I am going to give this one an A (rare I know) but I really like the flavor and think it is one I might buy more of.

Tea Tuesday #5

So for this week I tried a combination of my own making!

Raspberry Riot Lemon Mate and Wild Orange Blossom

They were very pretty together...
The smell was fantastic and love the final color. The problem.... I think it is more raspberry Riot then anything else. I like it, but next time I will keep them separated I think it was just too much of the Raspberry flavor I barely tasted the orange and I personally love the orange.

See very pretty coloring...

Final Grade: B I like both teas just maybe not together.

Tea Tuesday #4

So for this Tea Tuesday I tried a new flavor

Watermelon Mint Chiller - According to friends it is suppose to help with relaxation. Basically you become so relaxed you take on the attitude "Oh Well"... so I thought I have a paper to write might want to take some "oh well" medicine right?!

It didn't quite have what I was looking for, but I have to say it did taste fantastic. I think part of my problem is not putting enough leaves in or maybe my water is too hot. Who knows can I just say WOW I never knew tea was so hard to make.

Final Grade: I would give a B I like the freshness of the flavor and I think it would be really good chilled.

Tea Tuesday #3

It's been a long week folks. Seriously a very long week one I would classify as a #Headdesk kind of week.

On a fun side I started a 5 year journal which might I add seems a little daunting but you can follow alone with me here. So far it is fun but let's be honest it's only been 6 or so days.

So on that note let's move on... This last weekend was my 33rd Birthday and to celebrate I bought more tea!! YAY ME!

So this week I tried out the Raspberry Pinapple Luau

And here's what it looks like when you put it in the strainer

Okay so while I liked the smell it was very bold and YUMMY the flavor was kind of bland. So 1 of 2 things went wrong. 1) I didn't steep it long enough, or 2) I didn't use enough leaves. Either way next time I will set a timer and I will add in another teaspoon of leaves.

Final grade: Good but not one I would recommend 3 out of 5 stars.

Tea Tuesday #2

This week I am in Washington State with my family so I didn't bring any tea with me. However, I did go and get some Starbucks (Hello Starbucks Seattle come on it was a given and yes I got coffee not tea), but I did try a sleepy time tea from home before I left.

HERE WE GO (ps I cheated on this one no Teavana)

Yeah I used a Kcup for this week. LOL No worries I still used my famous India mug... always makes it better.

All in all not bad for sure had a bitter taste to it, but you have to keep in mind I don't add sugar or milk. It did relax me but that could've been a placebo effect.

LOVE or HATE:
Not a favorite but when I just don't want to spend 10 minutes mixing and preparing a cup of tea this works in a pinch.

Tea Tuesday #1

I have officially become a crack head for

To prove this to you here was my last shopping adventure...

So to help myself feel better about spending so much I thought I would start a Tea Tuesday meme to share with you the different teas I tried and which ones I LOVE or HATE and why... also it gives me a motivation to actually drink the damn tea that I bought!

HERE WE GO

I started off with Peach tranquility mixed with Dragonfruit Devotion (1 & 1/2 tsp each)

this is what the Peach tranquility looks like

And here is what the Dragonfruit Devotion looks like

I put some water in the trusty tea kettle

While that was boiling I used my handy dandy tea leave thingy

And of course you can't have tea in any old mug...

So after water boiled I put in my tea thing and let it seep for 5 freaking minutes (took forever)

Finally I was able to put my tea steeper thingy on my mug and poof instant tea no leaves

Aw a nice cup of hot tea
I have to say all in all it was a good mix. I did not add any sugar so it was a little fruity (if you don't like fruity tea then I would pass on it.) That being said as my mom says "It's tea that doesn't' taste like tea. I like it" LOL well said mom well said

LOVE OR HATE
I would go with a sort of love maybe put in more peach and less dragonfruit, but it is one that could grow on me. The sugar at the store for sure helped it with some of the bitterness, but it is still drinkable without it making it healthier.
